She could explain beauty to a flower
She is that amazing
But, dare she
appreciate
the many twists and turns
on the limbs of this tree?
With her I take my comfort
knowing that
when I stop
and talk to the ants
that she might stop
and talk to them with me
Understanding
the true and precious nature of ants
and that they are wonderful communicators
not to mention
good friends to have
Her acceptance of me
disarming
Getting to know her
a joyful gift
Unexpected
like the word
“Sugarbuns”
I take delight in my own handwriting
knowing I write for her
because she is
the Flow
And once you know
the Flow…
that’s all
there ever really is
to know

Nice poem. Once you know the flow… Yes, that’s it.

This poem makes me want to go jump in Mother Ocean!
I think this poem is great as it is, but I feel like
“Understanding
the true and precious nature of ants
and that they are wonderful communicators
not to mention
good friends to have”
are kind of superfluous verses. The poem would flow just as well and achieve the same sentiment without those lines.
Nonetheless, pretty words.
